NIMAT
When extraordinary talent is infused with pure artistry, unique style and exquisite grace, it is a remarkable blessing. With a namesake derived from the Arabic word for “blessing”, Nimat an exceptional singer-songwriter-musician, is a blessing indeed. Just when it appeared the incessant and redundant sounds of today's music threatened to take over the air-ways, this musical blessing emerged to offer us an incomparable journey into melodic poetry and motion. Rising above comparison with a unique, soulful sound that refuses the limitation of genre, Nimat delivers a captivating harmony that nestles in the pleasurable richness of great music. Writing is a profound passion Nimat has possessed since the tender age of 12 when she began her musical career. She has written over 250 songs including all of the music on her independent, debut CD, “I Still Need You” which has sold nationally and internationally multiple units via traditional and Internet music stores, performances and other grassroots efforts. Nimat, an accomplished guitarist, has awed many audiences in more than 175 performances since mid-2004. In her quest to realize her dream of being a world-renowned musical artist, Nimat learned the craft of music production, built a studio in her home, then went on to write and produce an arsenal of music. Although influenced by musical pioneers such as Nina Simone, Bob Marley, Terrence Trent D'Arby and Lauryn Hill, Nimat attributes much of her musical expression to life’s experiences, struggles, current issues, and the occurrences that really impact people and their lives on a daily basis. Nimat's incredible talent has earned her performances with talented artist such as Anthony David and Michelle Ndegeocello. After many years as a starving musician, Nimat had to step away from her love to find a way to bring in money to support herself and her career. In the midst of this challenge, the music industry began to shift with technology that would change the way the world would access and purchase music. This would open up a portal for Nimat's music to be heard by more people than she could imagine. Nimat opened a natural hair salon called "Fabulocs Natural Hair Gallery" and created an all natural product line. Fueled by her desire to write songs for the world by helping people to love their natural selves, Fabulocs quickly became a huge success. Now, with more stories to tell and more passion than ever, Nimat is currently recording and ready to share her new music with the world when it needs it most. “As I have grown, not just inage but in life experience; so has my music,” professed Nimat. “From the depth of my lyrics to the boundless arrangements of my music, it feels good to reach people in a much deeper way."I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share my dreams with the world through music." Embark upon a musical journey with Nimat and allow her to captivate you in a harmonic trance, spanning mesmerizing musical dimensions. Past shows include but are not limited to:
